On June 27 and 28, #CANOE and all the partners in the THERMOFIRE project will meet for their first kick-off meeting.

The aim of this 4-year European project is to develop and validate a new 100% biobased, recyclable, fire-resistant thermoplastic composite material. 

Aiming for maturity up to TRL 5, THERMOFIRE will validate the materials through prototyping, with the development of three demonstrators in the aeronautic, automotive and textile sectors.

CANOE will be involved in the following tasks: 

-> Development of the flame-retardant polymer formulation 

-> Development and production of cellulose fiber 

-> Manufacture of the aeronautical demonstrator (in collaboration with SAFRAN)

-> Study of mechanical recycling methods
